i don't speak much about using cultures in my writing but my characters tend to be more detached, despite how much i talk about culture on my personal. that said, details do come up as they go, ranging from how my characters deal with problems and respond to things.

Yeah I guess you could say that all iterations of Kaya, with no wealth to speak of, are so dignified no matter her story.

This tale is the tale of a woman who lost her world. Her eyes witnessed the abyss that took it all. Her family. Her home. But especially her sister.

I am moving away from tropes as constantly as possible but also regurgitating contradictory traits like as if they make sense.

I guess what I wanted Kaya to embody was my idealised form of gracefulness. Someone who will learn that what she’d known wasn’t as complete or correct as she thought it was, so she changes her perspective but she will still be there at the end of the horizon to perform that correction.

The important thing about Kaya across her iterations is that she operates on honour, rather than pride. Yeah there is a sense of ego in her actions and values, but it is so beyond her periphery.

While we’re at it. I think I’ll talk about Rama and Megrez and how they feel jealousy. Rama gets jealous, but that is because they are also a god of human will. Any regular human feels envy, whether it be for wealth, attention, glory and fame. Rama has perfected the ability to weaponise this.
