pinned post!
Now that we're all getting settled down here, I thought I might introduce you to what we do here at Raiveon. Before I do, I promise I won't ruin your feed with blatant advertising. This is a rare foray into our business.

I've just had a call about our video training at Raiveon. I asked the normal question of where did they hear about us and they said ChatGPT. A.I. for once, appears to have given us work!

This is an excellent analysis, which deserves to be shared. But the headline in the Telegraph, the actual bloody headline says everything. Look sunshine, if you’ve paid millions in taxes, that means you’ve made many more millions. Congratulations and all that, enjoy it and belt up moaning.

Why has it taken 3 years since this belter to come out before I find out? Big Special. Most enjoyable waxings.

For filming with an iPhone I use the Padcaster Verse rig. We've found some spare that we're selling. Message me for details.

Youngest son has just released his first album (demo), now available on Bandcamp. Delicately crafted melodies and wistful lyrics are the perfect accompaniment to a sunny spring day. Sorrow's Maw provide nothing like these in spades. Heads down people.

@jaynedavids.bsky.social
delivered a top notch overview of caption accessibility in videos best practices. A must watch if you're making workplace L&D videos, internal comms, marketing, or just generally creating videos. Watch the recording here:

I'm a videographer but don't use Premier Pro, Di Vinci etc. I use
#Camtasia
, historically considered as screen recording/editing software - not for shot footage. Anyway, I have cunning reasons. It involves clients making their own content. I explain myself here:

I’ve not seen The Traitors. Is it a rehash of The Mole that Channel 5 did in the early 00s? If so, it’s the bloke with the curly hair.

We're doing quite a bit of videoing at events, trade shows, training sessions etc. The thing about being dull & middle aged is I can blend in to the background to get the best, most relaxed, natural shots. Ah, to be nondescript.

I doubt any Troll here who’s trying to smear Keir Starmer about decade-old events will be interested to read these pages from my book about his record prosecuting rape gangs. But he’s done more to bring them to justice than Farage, Yaxley-Lennon - or Musk -will ever do.

Don't tell me BBC boffins, the best boffins in the world, cannot use state of the art technology to swap out Gregg Wallace with Dom Littlewood, Heston Blumenthal, Harry Hill, Stanley Tucci, Matt Lucas etc. What are we all so worried about AI for if they can't even do that?

I’m not going to tell anyone how to do Bluesky, but I would like to encourage the following: - Repost stuff you find interesting/entertaining - help others to find the good people to follow - repost small creatives who you like who are trying to plug their work

I've posted this elsewhere. Here's an article I wrote for Training Journal where I state incorrectly that the BBC have been using iPhones to film since 2018. When it should say "since the early 2010s".
