🌳We’re excited to be in Riga, Latvia, with our wood affiliates! Fruitful debate with our eyes on the forests of the future and on the way to EU carbon neutrality. We discussed tools to promote sustainable and socially responsible forest management practices and present good practices on this topic.

👏The EFBWW congratulates Inga Ruginiene , the new elected Prime Minister of Lithuania. Ruginiene was for many years the president of the Lithuanian wood and forestry union, affiliated to EFBWW, Vice-President of the EFBWW Wood Committee, and above all a long-time trade union friend.

🗣The EFBWW participated in the Uzeste Festival in a debate about trade unions and the far-right. Our GS, Tom Deleu, and President, Bruno Bothua (CGT), underlined: 🔹the link between social dumping/precarization and far right. 🔹 the role of communication, social media and trade union influencers.

📢Great and busy day today at the Executive Committee! We started the day discussing the @ec.europa.eu very different plans for the Quality Jobs Roadmap and for the Single Market Strategy, in a case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

📢Exciting afternoon today at the final conference of our joint-project on Social Identity Cards in Construction (SIDE-CIC)! With backing from the European Commission mission, the EFBWW and FIEC are carrying out this project, looking into social ID card schemes in construction across Europe.
