Law is a *system of reasoning*, as well as a *system of sources* Ultimately law is a discursive enterprise that depends upon one's capacity to reason, persuade and explain. It is dynamic and responsive. It does not give simple answers. And it is the antithesis of the black box

Too often I hear that students need to learn how to use gen AI because "it is the future." No. No it's not. And no they don't. We need to teach them *how* to reason, and *what* sources they must use. EXACTLY the things chatGPT cannot do, and will never do.
