My music is not for bigots. That includes red hats and white hoods. That includes those who wield crucifixes as moral weapons. That includes TERFs. That includes genocide apologists. That includes bathroom police. This is not a safe space for hatred. I sing for the intolerant left.

We’re being force-fed AI and I hate it. We’re teaching machines to dream and using them to bar humans from careers in creative fields. This is backward. Unsurprising, but downright dystopian.

Let me introduce myself. Alt-folk-soul, emotions on the bleeding edge of my sleeve. Sociopolitically awake and unapologetic about. Making music for people who punch Nazis and worship their beloved. Pretty, at least sometimes. Ugly when it’s called for. Listen, connect, be??

Generative AI is plagiarism. Let’s keep AI firmly in the “assistant” department, and pass laws banning scraping from non-consenting artists. It would be simple enough to create some kind of learning database from royalty-free material for machine learning—there is no reason for this.

A comment on a tattoo coverup of an actual hate symbol, gleefully supporting said hate symbol, without even the courtesy of clever misspelling, doesn’t go against Meta’s Community Standards. That tells me that Meta HAS no standards.

What are the odds that, in the silence of the dark hours of the morning, even the Self-Tan Supervillain knows he done f**ked up and sits there worrying over how deep up his a*** the puppeteer’s hand has gone?

Turns out the secret to a coup is just do it on Friday. The opposition will make strongly worded posts and see what they can do about it on Monday

A coup d’etat is an overt deposition of government by force. A self-coup involves a legally elected leader KEEPING power through illegal means. A constitutional coup occurs when power is expanded using semi-legal means such as loopholes or rule changes/suspensions. All of these are possible now.

I want to believe you, Congresswoman. Tell us an action plan that prevents these madmen from suspending democracy and refusing to cede power. We have heard, from their own lips, that very intention. How do we save the USA—looking for concrete answers, not just hope.

The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government.

Instead we are watching them shamelessly prepare to suspend democracy. We are watching massive executive overreach, and we are watching the naked, shameless, cowardly targeting of the most marginalized groups among us. I hope the “both parties are the same” argument is ashes in your mouth.

I’m over the narrative that we need to field moderate/centrist candidates. It’s time to strike out boldly. Gamble on someone who can galvanize the electorate. Temperate politics are unfit for turbulent times.

A 🧵 for comic book fans: Nearly all comic villains—Doom, Skull, Luthor, Osborn, Darkseid, etc—are autocrats, fascists, and right-wingers who play directly into a certain stereotype (that you might not-see *cough*). 1/3
