Ad Astra Games learned about in-house Print-on-Demand publishing from Timeline Ltd's new owners when they reprinted The Morrow Project. I knew of a new kind of laser printer with lower costs-per-click. We shared what we knew with Amarillo Design Bureau, who adopted the process post-haste.

In celebration of the imminent Blades ‘68 campaign, I thought I’d talk a bit about its graphic design. BUT FIRST let’s compare and contrast with the graphic design of Blades in the Dark, a landmark in the history of RPG layout. Type nerdery ahoy 🧐

You know how they make "Shiny" pokémon, the special, more exciting alternate versions of pokémon? Well they should also make "Dull" pokémon, which would be unusually boring and uninteresting versions of pokémon.

Detective in a Police Procedural, reading through the computer printout he's just been handed, about to make the final breakthrough of the episode: "Okay, so it says here that Mary's boychild... Jesus Christ!" Sidekick: "What?" Detective: [putting on his coat] "... was born in Christmas Day!"

Its so crazy that RTD had the doctor use "doesn't she look tired" as a morally dubious tactic to discredit someone in the public eye at the same time that he personally was saying the same thing about Eccleston to anyone who'd listen.

"There's no smoke without fire" is an insane idiom to have be so common. The meaning of it - the nugget of truth captured in this pithy aphorism - is that everything that anyone has ever said is true. I don't think we need a saying for that.

Imagine being Spotify, and having to deal with the fact that you're so evil that people would rather use YouTube Music, concluding that, actually, Google seem kind of okay.

I dreamed a Mountain Goats song. It goes "I know she's a baker, but she's either an excellent faker... or she likes me a lot". It does rely on the idea that John Darnielle fundamentally mistrusts bakers, but that seems plausible enough.

I have three types of ttrpg characters: - people who can't read - people who don't realise they're tragic - people actively shedding their sense of self and its usually all three at once

I’ve known Robert Prevost for years as one of the main figures in online TMNT fandom, where no one has a bad word to say about him. He probably won’t have as much time to contribute to Turtles wikis with his new gig but I though his choice of “Pope Leo” was a lovely nod to the community

Take this man and tie him in the tavern in there. The people shall decide your fate, Inspector Javert! If you think the traitor should be executed, text VENGEANCE to 24601. If you think the man should be shown mercy, text REDEMPTION to 24601. Texts will be charged at your standard message rate.

Who are you to tell me what I can and can't find wherever I get my podcasts? No one knows that but the old man who throws out bin bags full of cassette tapes onto which he's recorded seemingly random podcasts from a microphone across the room from his phone. I've never had the same podcast twice.

In May last year, grieving over the fact that our DnD game was going fully online, the concept of me and a bucnh of mates playing Mordheim was born. It is very much still a concept. But I have made some progress on some terrain, which is the most important thing.

I'm a massive Golden Girls fan, so I can think of no better leadership for my Adeptus Sororitas. I've been working through this concept for YEARS and I'm excited to finally have it accomplished. Shout out to @bssterrain for the amazing head sculpts.

I've been struggling with my GM load lately, because for some reason I thought I could manage running a weekly Draw Steel game for the group I usually play in, on top of my normal weekly 5e game. Only by dint of both groups going through a bad scheduling patch at the same time have I made it work.

We failed to stop fascism's rise. Now it's dancing about on the White House lawn. I don't know how to fix all this but I do know that the shit we've been doing won't get us out of this one.
