I call them fascists, but I don't find the debate over that term terribly constructive. The word fascism chills many of us to the bone, but it doesn't function that way in the world at large. We need to help people understand how what's happening relates to their lives and futures.

Municipal defenders have repeatedly told me Westminster city court is the most carceral court in the state.

Doesn't matter how "progressive" the CO legislature is when there are billionaire right wingers holding the legislature hostage by buying their way onto the ballot with half baked, harmful initiatives that sound good at first blush and would take millions of dollars to defeat.

🎉CFF's first priority bill is introduced! We WILL end cash bond in Colorado. But for now we are stuck with it and must work to maximize freedom in our current system. Online bond pay means more pretrial freedom now, especially for folks caged in rural jails. It's a good bill folks!
