Tonight in Pathfinder. Diplomacy worked great for the players all night. Then they tried it in a situation that they were not strong enough to pull punches. It was... spicy.

Prompt injection means email viruses are back. A researcher found a security vulnerability where you send an email with hidden instructions which when CoPilot scans the email, executes and then hides the source of the instructions. It took Microsoft 5 months to fix the issue.

I forgot just how many tools I relied on. Getting my dev environment back up and running after a catastrophic drive failure is not optimal use of my time, but necessary. Lots of little things added over the years to make my environment work, so doing it all at once is definitely overwhelming...

It's been about 1 year since I first started using a split, ortholinear keyboard and... I can no longer use a regular keyboard. The wrist and staggered key setup of the old keyboard actually hurts my hands now. I also, at around the same time, switched my code environment to neovim. All the changes.

Received some advice that was very useful. I will provide zero context: "Don't think about the doing. If the action requires thought, practice until it doesn't, then your brain can focus on the wider problem, not how to execute the first action in the step." Use or ignore as you see fit.

Just had a 30-minute ranting session with some friends about Rangers in 5e, and their subsequent changes in 2024 version. I will spare you here the pain, but know that I'm going to homebrew the shit out of it before I start my Ember campaign (which sadly is not PF2e compat.)

Took my old FFXIV RP character for a spin with the old crew, and it was great. Missed playing her, and missed the old gang. Wish NA time zones weren’t so brutal with a day job and other commitments, I’d play with these nerds ALL the time.

I feel as though if I say one more nice thing about the FoundryVTT devs I'm going to basically just have to work for them... but seriously, my misgivings about DnD5e's general mechanical state aside, the FVTT folks have made the system work so nicely, especially for homebrewing which I do a LOT of.

5e should consider doing species in the same way that PF2e does ancestries. Let me be mixed race *and* benefit from having parents of both lineages. I don't see that as problematic. I see that as opening a space for really interesting character stories WITH mechanical benefits and/or implications.

One of the core libraries I use for FoundryVTT isn’t being maintained and the repo is no longer available, so no new installs… guess I either have to build something from scratch (probs not skilled enough) or try to reverse engineer it and update deprecated stuff from the local install I have :(
