Despite extensive experience as an RD at big parkrun, and as a volunteer at juniors, tomorrow I’m RD at junior parkrun for the first time and am BRICKING it 😳

214 parkruns and 319 volunteering credits under my belt, and today was only the 5th time I’ve been tail walker. Quite enjoyed it for a change but looking forward to being RD next week 😀

Lovely visit to my NENDY, Castle Woods parkrun in Aboyne. Deeside has got itself an excellent new event.

Grey and muggy on my walk this morning but found some lovely colours in the park.

It rained at parkrun. A lot. One of those days when you get home and immediately peel your soggy clothes off in the kitchen. Oh, and I was RD. Hence laundry.

Watching the live feed of the finish line at the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and obviously the runners are amazing, but also massive kudos goes to the finish area volunteers! It looks like carnage.

First visit to Nairn Links parkrun. Thankfully the rain stopped just before the start. I’m not normally a huge fan of a three lap course but there was plenty to see and lots of chances to say hello or wave to friends. I’m looking forward to a return visit on a sunny day.

Another really lovely, warm morning in Aberdeen and, having been shut since Storm Arwen in 2021, Countesswells Woods have finally reopened!

Royal Canal parkrun, Kilcock 🇮🇪 was every bit as lovely as I’d hoped.

This morning saw a new national attendance record for parkrun UK, the first time this has happened in March since 2015.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Cycling ending on ITV4 and going behind a £30.99 Discovery+ paywall is a travesty.

Just been for a course recce before my stint as RD at parkrun tomorrow. It’s dry and bright, the sun came out properly at the end of my walk, and everything feels like Spring might actually be here.

That. Was. Epic. Also, the chat in the cafe afterwards was superb. What a lovely, friendly event! Bit hilly though 🤣

Day 9 of our Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen voyage and my parkrun thermal robe has been the BEST thing I’ve brought with me. Sub-zero temperatures and Arctic winds? No problem.

Today’s parkrun experience: absolutely Baltic before the start, lovely once I got moving, failed to take photos 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

-7C with wind chill when I arrived at the park for Duthie junior parkrun but totally worth it.
