Donald Trump's attack on science is turning back the clock on research that saves lives and powers our economy in Massachusetts and beyond. Not on my watch. I'm pressing Trump's health leaders for answers now.

Gene editing technology began by people studying salt marshes. Ozempic began by folks studying the venom of Gila Monsters. Support for basic science has empowered us to understand our world. Tethering it to applications health has transformed and saved countless lives.

I am saddened by the passing of Lynn Landmesser, a pioneer in neural development and cornerstone of our department. When I arrived, she was still teaching students to fabricate electrodes and dazzling junior faculty with stories about the history of the field. She will be missed.
