Martin Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore is coming to 4K and Blu-ray via Criterion on July 14! Ellen Burstyn won an Oscar for her performance, as yours truly discussed with

Exactly. Whenever I see that misguided argument, I know that the person making it was probably on their phone while āwatchingā the movie.

Sinners is not Parasite or Barbie. Hamnet is not The Kingās Speech. One Battle After Another is not The Power of the Dog. Delroy Lindo is not Marcia Gay Harden. Each movie and performance is unique and only exists in their own film and awards year. Hope this helps.

Thinking about how in Isabel Wilkersonās āCasteā and in Ava DuVernayās ORIGIN, these women talk about how the Nazis learned their practices from studying the Jim Crow South. This is the darkest side of American history repeating again and again.

Seeing a lot of people on the other site trying to push a narrative that weāre in for a Social Network/Kingās Speech situation. Itās so so forced, especially because itās impossible to label OBAA as a ācoldā film which is usually the Achilles Heel of a movie like TSN that loses at the finish line.
