I spoke to someone last night, an old friend, and after spending an hour on the phone, she asked me why no political commentators other than me (and @jesscraven101.bsky.social) are giving people specific instruction on how to get involved to fight back. There's three answers from what I can tell:

Supermajorities of Americans think ICE and Border Patrol are out of control and want Congress to do something about it. Democrats are aligned with the public. Republicans hold the unpopular position — and keeping the heat on them is how we win this fight.

We can celebrate this (temporary at this date) shutdown. But I want to remind people there are thousands of men, women and children in concentration camps.
