Trump doesn’t have visions. He has delusions, and even those are fickle.

Blanche seems to think showing papers to enter a restaurant is normal. That’s the real tell. The authoritarian move is to normalize ID checkpoints in ordinary life, then use that imagined normality to justify barriers to voting.

The authoritarian danger is not a single dramatic cancellation of the midterms. It is the normalization of treating election rules, timelines, and outcomes as disposable whenever they obstruct power. Democracy is acceptable only when it delivers the result he wants.

The country is falling behind, our alliances are strained, and families can’t afford basics. Meanwhile, Trump is writing Truth Social posts that sound like a fever dream dictated by a broken slot machine.
