Had an AMAZING dream in the last part of the night. I was involved in a charity event where Stereolab and The Pet Shop Boys had to write and record a single in one day and I was there to help with lyrics and the song we came up with was an absolute floor-filler called 'Please Don't Go to Belgium'.

Brilliant couple of days of teaching,. Yesterday my Musical Theatre students turned one of my radio plays into a six-song musical (in four hours) and made me cry. Today my amazing Playwriting students talked about dramatic structure in utterly brilliant & thrilling ways.

Great review of MAN AND BOY

that expresses very much my view of this revelatory production that frees Rattigan from scenographic conservatism.

Oh no! One of the great comic actresses - she had the rare talent to be both hilarious and completely truthful. She had amazing range too. And always seemed like someone who’d be rnormius fun to spend time with. RIP.

Delighted to see this handsome edition of Terence Rattigan's MAN AND BOY (in a tie-in with the National Theatre production) out in the wild, with a hefty introduction by me looking at the fascinating and painful development process of the play.

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.” Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

The irony is that the 2nd amendment to the US Constitution was introduced to enable the people to resist state terror by a tyrannical federal force. But now there is state terror by a tyrannical federal force, and the gun nuts are cheering them on.

Why is the goverment persisting in adopting the far-right accusation about 'open borders'? Do they think right-wing voters will flock to them? If so, do they have an estimate as to when? Because it ain't happening yet.
