Don't forget: this administration lies like it breathes, and agreements aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Assuming anyone in Minnesota listened to these jokers for ONE MINUTE and gave them EXACTLY what they wanted, they could say "Psyche!" and spew more agitprop for why they're still going.

Remember that the legal standard for deadly force is whether the agent reasonably believed that he was in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury. That is the only question that matters. And that standard is plainly not met by what we see in the video.

For further context, Mr. Mitnick was purged by the Trump admin in 2018 and replaced with Chad Mizelle, a Trump loyalist who came back in his second term in a very high-level role at DOJ (and has since left the admin). He's been a Never Trump Republican for a while now.

Beyond helping establish DHS itself in 2003, Mr. Mitnick was a senate-confirmed Trump choice for General Counsel for DHS in his first term. I've talked with him a few times, and he's not a man for hyperbole. So bear that in mind when you see him calling out DHS's "lawlessness, fascism, and cruelty."
