It is heartening to see college students reject the charlatans peddling AI & data centers. Americans don't want this job-killing, water-hogging, power-guzzling, noisy, polluting tech that is paving over our landscapes while providing no benefit to anyone other than corporations & the ultra wealthy.

I grew up in Toutle in the years after Mt. St. Helens erupted, many of the trees growing tall in the Monument today are the same age as I, and some of my earliest memories are of the beautiful desolation of the area in the 90s.

I've spent today preparing campaign materials. By November, I plan to have published concept documents outlining new parks for every rural community in the 20th Legislative District, which I'm realizing is quite a monumental task!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has treated the Toutle River as their own private sandbox to play in for far too long, & at astronomic expense to taxpayers. It’s time to manage the Toutle River for salmon, ecosystems, and the people who call this place home.

It was great to talk with folks out in Morton yesterday at the "Noodles and Neighbors" event, hosted by @lewiscountydemocrats.org I had some really interesting conversations with people from the area, and afterwards stopped by Gust Backstrom City Park to take a look at the waterfall there.

I've officially filed to run for the 20th District, Position 1, and I received a brief mention in The Chronicle!

The @wadnr.bsky.social claims it can’t afford to keep campgrounds open, yet it's happy to hand its scant funding over to foreign corporations to buy barrels of cancer-causing herbicide to spray across 2,257 acres in SW Washington. DNR needs to fund campgrounds instead of poison.

Southwest Washington is a transit desert, and solving that problem is a key component of reducing the cost of living here and throughout rural Washington State. The first step in doing that is to ensure that every community with an active rail line has a train station with hourly service.

Most of our societal and cultural issues are fundamentally a symptom of a lack of cohesive, stable community. Forging robust, sustainable, and connected communities is imperative to lifting the mental, financial, and environmental burdens we struggle with; healing the deep divides in America.

Data centers have been found to heat the area around them by as much as 16 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures hit 120F during the 2021 heat dome in #Washington. Imagine if instead they soared to 136F in some areas thanks to heat pollution from data centers. #BanDataCenters #waleg #wawx

Industrial hemp is the key to sustainable economic success in rural Washington. It's one of the most efficient and versatile materials available. Industrial Hemp has the potential to boost profits for farmers, create thousands of good union jobs, and provide communities with reliable revenue.

Data centers prey on rural communities - taking advantage of desperate people and lax regulations. If elected, I'd seek to pass legislation to ban the construction of new data centers, prevent existing data centers from running generative AI programs, and ensure data centers pay their fair share.
