So far these are the “main 4” locations that I’ve got framed out to match as closely to the comic framing as possible. They’re all taken at the equivalent of 4 PM at this time of year, and I’ll probably run off a batch of them at different times to see how things shift.

I know I already quoted this earlier, but I figured I’d use this as a bit of a segue into just talking a bit about mental health, headspace, and life in general. I never WANTED to stop doing the comic. Honestly, all the times I’ve gone on hiatus, it was because I just got overwhelmed.

I know I’m asking a lot lately, and I wouldn’t if I didn’t have another choice (I literally applied for SNAP benefits in order to help ease the load, and then three days later the government shut down), so if you have anything you can spare, you’d be helping me out more than you can know.

I wish we had gotten more Trick-or-Treaters, but our yard looked better than it ever has this year! I already have some projects in mind for next year, too! (The background for the window projection is something I literally threw together in 2 hours in Blender last night. It came out pretty well!

This is the lamest version of “Final Destination” ever.

Looking forward to seeing it tonight in the spotlight to see how it fares in the evening, but HOT DAMN! I’d say that looks fairly legit! :D

And there she is. I COULD NOT be more in love with this plaque. I’m going to have to get it mounted on the pillar tomorrow, but HO-LEE-CRAP. I’d like to think Master Gracey would approve. :)

Here it is after the patina has had a chance to fully develop. I think I’m going to need to do some manual dry brushing in the letters to really bring the blue out, and I MIGHT do some dry brushing with the bronze paint mixed with black on a few raised areas, but I LOVE how the bronze has blackened.

It’s beginning to take shape! This is after about 10 minutes of dry time (you do a second coat of bronze paint, and while it’s wet, you spray on the acidic solution). It’s supposed to develop over 30-40 minutes, so it’s exciting to see where it ends up!

It definitely looks less like forbidden chocolate after the first coat of bronze paint. :D

All primed and ready for the bronze paint tomorrow! (It’s a special paint that oxidizes with an acidic spray that forms a blue verdigris coating, which should make it look exactly like the plaque outside of the mansion at Disneyland. :D )

Still a few finishing touches on the Constance doll left to do, but we finally got her fully assembled and her dress mostly done, and GOD DAMN. Liz is aiming to have the video released on Halloween, so stay tuned!

The spookiness intensifies! Still have more to do, but seeing these up at night is FABULOUS. :D

Got one of the two pillars up and assembled to test how it all fits together. I have to print new mounts for the lanterns on top, but I should be able to get them installed and working by tomorrow! :D The plaque needs to be sanded and re-primed until the seams disappear, and then I can paint it! :)

Finally getting some paint on the pillars! They’ve been sitting, ignored in the garage for the last year, but I’m gung-ho to get them finished this week, dammit! I wanna get the yard decorated this weekend. :)

I feel a little bit like I’ve leveled up - this thing is completely battery operated (one A27 battery), but still small enough for the doll to hold it!

For only the second time ever since the OG PS1 version (and for the first time without using a cheat!), I’ve beaten Final Fantasy Tactics. I was a bit sad though - they cut the second Argath/Algus fight from Limberry castle. I was looking forward to kicking his ass again!

If I ever stop being interested in complicated miniature electronics projects, it is because I am dead.

Speaking of voice actors, I’d held off on looking it up just because I had a hunch, but I’m SO pleased to see that they brought the same voice actors on from FF7 Remake and Rebirth to voice Cloud and Aerith (though she’s in a British accent! :D) It’s the little stuff that makes me happy.
