#daOCqotd For all my player characters, the parents are indeed not around for anyone of them. Kim Mahariel lost his before he could even speak, Felis' mother died before she really got with Anders (and before that generally tried to ignore her daughter's habits in regards to partners).

#daOCqotd Out of my OC the only character who cannot swim well is my Hawke. She will stay afloat, but nothing more. Kim (my Warden) can swin, but he does not like it. Meanwhile both André and Thel (Inquisitor and Rook) are very good swimmers.

#daOCqotd Kim never did Calling Research, and I just ignore that bit from Inquisition. Kim does not care about the Wardens. He was press ganged into that, he thinks the Wardens are evil, and he cannot care less if they all die. He himself is fine as it is, because he won't life that long either way

Most noteable is of course André, because he lost his arm (being the Inquisitor and all). He later also has a limp. Though I should also note that my Rook has severe ADHD, and my warden Kim would in our society be considered autistic. He also later loses some hearing in his left ear.

So. My Warden Kim had joined Solas before as one of the Agents of Fen'Harel, so he spent Veilguard being very confused why Solas was suddenly gone, and trying to find Solas again. Hawke was dead, obviously, or rather hanging out as a sort of spirit in the Fade. And André tries to keep the south.

Looking through so much fantasy concept art and no matter what kind of setting, quite often the medieval filter strikes again. I am begging people to understand that color existed before the 1950s!

My Rook Thel is addicted to mostly alcohol. He also took other drugs (no lyrium though), but alcohol is the one thing he struggles to get off of. He already drank at an early age (Thedas will not have a legal drinking age, lets be honest there) and just used it as a "fix" since he was about 12.

Pretty much all of them are pretty darn stoic and do not cry easily. Though I think André is the only one who is so used to performing a role for everyone that he genuinely does not even remember how to cry.

I really want to do the Emmrich romance in Veilguard, but I have not gotten around to it because time. Also Sera in Inquisition, but for that I would have to do a female Inquisitor, and as a trans guy I am never sure if I am fine with that. Female Hawke worked kinda, but... eh.

Kim cannot write very well at all. He can read and all, but he just has not a lot of training in terms of writing. Felis and Thel both can write but do not have a orderly handwriting. They cannot be assed to care about it. Only André. He writes very well and pretty. Good first impression!

The two of my player characters who have a child of their own are Kim (who obviously had Kieran with Morrigan) and then my Inquisitor André. While André is gay, he knew his family would expect him to have offspring. So he married a lesbian woman and has three kids with her (two girls, one boy).

My Warden Kim is a tea person. He never even knew of coffee given he is Dalish. In fact the only of my characters whonis well familiar with coffee is my Rook Thel. Lucanis made sure of that.

#daOCqotd Let me answer this for Thel mostly, because Thel (my Rook) is a character who has struggled with alcohol addiction since he was an early teenagers. (I do not think there are drinking age laws in Thedas.) While he takes by now a lot to get drunk, once he does he is a messy drunk. /
