pinned post!
Doing self-promo is a fraught process in even the best of times, so it brings me no pleasure whatsoever to announce that my new country record "TIRED OF LIVING" is now available for pre-order. All proceeds will be matched and donated to Trans Lifeline.

I'm not entirely unsympathetic re: Jello's stroke, but I've been thoroughly disenchanted w/him ever since an oogle named Zed broke his leg at Gilman back in the 90s and he effectively threatened to shut the place down

as everyone readily acknowledges, it's nowhere near as good as the final version of Killtaker (maybe my favorite Fugazi?), but it's very cool to see it finally get an official release for a good cause.

apparently Anna Logue did a reissue of this way back in 2009 and I totally missed the boat, but it looks like they are doing a new pressing later this year. insanely good UK synthpop from the early 80s that somehow sat unreleased for decades.

If you have read or even heard about the classic text "On Tyranny" by Timothy Snyder, you should read this piece he just published *today* about what is likely to happen THIS WEEK in Ohio. An American Nazi ethnic cleanse. We cannot let this happen.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

A better view than the last time I did Artist Point in winter. Supposedly the clouds were going to break a bit later, but I can only handle getting pelted by icy snow for so long.

Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.

New research finds trans teens have high satisfaction with gender care
The survey published in JAMA Pediatrics showed that trans teens taking puberty blockers or hormones had very low rates of regret.
