You can tell global faction conflict sucks because even the Cata zones that aren't drowned in outdated pop culture references are so much more inferior to their Classic counterparts it's almost impressive

Man I kind of hope Blizzard makes all the worst decisions possible for the upcoming plot so some people quit in droves and I don't have to see frothing at the mouth borderline harassment lore takes every time a new storyline releases

I can tell I'm not angry just to be angry at new patch content when it just makes me legitimately sad

While I believe experimentation is generally good, I do honestly hate that Blizzard seems hellbent on trying to reinvent other game modes in their MMO instead of making a better MMO

I think genuinely the most useful way to understand modern WoW storytelling is that the factions are now irrelevant and they’re more interested in telling racial/class fantasy stories. Which honestly? I prefer. I think Void Elves and Blood Elves have more in common than Earthen and Zandalari do.

I've been thinking about this the past couple days and honestly the Penitent Man'ari/Redeemed Demon/Nashabor plotline they've been seeding (arguably, in my head, since Legion) is just classic Warcraft, a universe where the pitch is, 'What if this traditionally 'evil' fantasy race had nuance?'

Overall I think the progression of the storyline of Quel'Thalas is a positive one, but the progression of elves as a whole is a net negative. I see shades of the modern Draenei storyline (that I love) in the Void and High Elves quest chapters, but the Nightborne and Night Elves just don't fit well.

I think what hurts the most about Midnight's MSQ is it's clearly a very decent story that has a number of glaring, crippling, terrible mistakes that makes me want to pull my hair out. Shandris, please, why are you here. Go home. This can just be a story of Thalassian reunification.

I like faction collaboration plotlines, but to me the factions that collaborate have to make sense. What do the Night Elves have in common with the Blood Elves? Why wouldn't the Draenei and Forsaken already living in Quel'Thalas step up? Where are the Darkfallen?

It's really funny that now, when Blood Elf players are mad that Void Elves are cannibalizing their themes, and Void Elf players are mad about their aesthetic and palette changing, I'm like damn, Midnight is making the Void Elves kinda neat. And I don't even like the Void.
