20 years ago tonight at this exact time: I was editing our two-host, remotely-recorded first podcast as a single-track file in Premiere, manually dragging rubber bands up and down, desperately trying to balance the audio… because that’s all I knew how to do. Thankfully we’re beyond that these days…!

This was the news 20 years ago! DB movie 2 was finally getting an uncut/bilingual DVD release from FUNimation (otherwise just dub-only VHS since 1998) as part of a box set… and Dragon Box: The Movies was also coming in Japan!

Exact same hardware that I was playing this game on 20 years ago. I don’t know why I later bought an American copy of the game — it’s not like I ever played that one!

Remembering (or just now realizing?) that when I bought DBZ2V, the seller included a Super Saiyan Bardock card for Heroes. Extremely on brand for me all around here.

Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles - store.steampowered.com/app/1004640/... Tried to play this so many times in the past. QOL updates helped. Complicated feelings about it (job unlocks, pacing, so many proper nouns). Time to rewatch the Stormblood raid cutscenes I had no context for.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection - atari.com/collections/... To say MK was formative or foundational for me would be to undersell it — have told a few of those stories over the years. Loved all the footage. Want more ports of more games. Want the input lag decreased further (PS5). Online was rough.

That specific promo shot from the timeline will forever be EGM 54 to me, an issue I read to death so hard it’s literally packing-tape-bound back together.
