As an engineer, I urge you to provide formulas. We actively discourage people from relying on memory to do important calculations. That's how you send complex systems into disarray because of tiny avoidable errors where someone just wanted to seem all knowing.

I think one of the issues with the teaching of something like drug calculations is that experts think it’s just “simple arithmetic” but don’t realise they are actually using multiple different strategies flexibly even in a simple problem.
