Brockton’s own blues singer Jo Baker was born this day in 1948. She sang in Elvin Bishop’s band from 1968 to 1973, and later joined this band, Stoneground. I can't confirm if she's actually singing about Brockton in this 1974 clip. It’s certainly plausible. She died young, of liver disease, in 1996.
