We are suspending all planned industrial action over teacher workload, following an agreement being reached between the EIS, Scottish Government and Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA). https://www.eis.org.uk/latest-news/workloadagreement

I want to avoid disruption to pupils' education that comes with industrial action. The Scottish Government has put forward a fully funded proposal for COSLA to avoid these strikes. I encourage other parties to join the team effort to get the deal over the line tomorrow.

The EIS joins the First Minister in urging COSLA to support the Draft Agreement and bring an end to the SNCT Workload dispute.

Scottish Government & COSLA commitments on workload have failed, including a specific clause in the 2018 pay settlement aimed at tackling excessive teacher workload. Workload has since spiralled even further out of control. Vote YES for an SNCT agreement focused specifically on workload reduction.

The cabinet secretary admitted, at the EIS AGM last June, that commitments on class contact time should already have been delivered. Almost 8 months later and we are still waiting for any firm proposals on how it might be delivered to emerge from the Scottish Government and COSLA.
