Motion 68 is moved by Neil Anderson and seconded by Andrew Fullwood. Craig Duffy, opposing the motion says, my point of opposition is purely because of what the mover said. It is a small organisation I haven't heard of. I don't know enough to see if we can or should affiliate to them.

Motion 67 is moved by first time speaker Tracey Trayner, "We must condemn Russia's crimes against the people of Ukraine. To enable our members to get involved in solidarity with Ukranian Trade Unions we first need to approve this motion."

Christopher Devlin steps up to the podium to move our final education motion. "It is not our experience that a ban on phones has reduced violence and aggression in our schools." The motion is carried. #EISAGM26

Motion 23 is moved by Dominic Tollan. "I think the most basic thing we should be asking for is an email you can carry throughout the duration of your teaching career" he says. #EISAGM26 The motion is carried.

Motion 22 is moved by Sunita Nayyer, "When expectations are unclear members carry the risk. We need to see how widespread these expectations have become" #EISAGM26

Motion 21 regarding educating learners about working class history, labour movements and celebrating community culture gains strong support from delegates. In seconding the motion, first time speaker Danielle Henshaw says Collective bargaining isn't a relic of the past, it's a shield for the future.

The vote to remit motion 19 to Council fell and therefore we move back to the debate. Following a show of hands, the motion is carried. #EISAGM26

Moving on to motion 20, moved by Ross Lyall, Midlothian. “Colour printers have been removed from our schools and teachers have been left with only one printer between many classrooms.” #EISAGM26

Motion 19 looked at the invisible workload implications dedicated to unofficial reporting to parents either through after school discussions or phone calls home. After some debate including an opposing speaker in Des Morris, the motion is put to a card vote #EISAGM26

Motion 18 moved by Susan Quinn, reporting and investigating on ASN tribunal outcomes and is carried.

Alison Beattie moved motion 9 at #EISAGM26, reaffirming the belief that high-quality mentoring is integral to the success of the Teacher Induction Scheme.

“We must ensure that unconditional offers do not erode the value of teaching and learning” Iain Aitken moves motion 17 on deferring unconditional offers until June 1st The motion is formally seconded.

Looking at workload associated with Qualifications Scotland, Motion 15, moved by Iain Aitken and motion 16 also moved by Iain Aitken #EISAGM26 “for school leaders results day is a major workload implication” The motions were carried by delegates.

Mick Dolan successfully moved a motion at #EISAGM26 this morning. The motion called for a review of the state pension age/normal pension age link.

Tom Colquhoun moves motion 65 calling for AGM to invite Omar Barghouti co-founder of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights to address one of the EIS council meetings in the 26/7 session. After some debate the motion carries #EISAGM26

Moving motion 14, Christina Fleming says, We feel we are letting our children down, and feel we are not doing enough, as we are currently unable to cover everything we should be. This then impacts a teachers' health and wellbeing. #EISAGM26

Our final salaries motion of #EISAGM26 is remitted to Council and we move back to Education with motion 14.

Motion 40 to seek to negotiate at SNCT for the list of practical classes within the handbook to be updated to reflect current Qualifications Scotland courses, is successfully moved by Craig Duffy following a short debate. #EISAGM26

Motion 39 to report on which duties identified in job-sized remit of senior managers in schools are being delegated to middle management personnel whom they manage, is carried. #EISAGM26

Motion 38 is moved by Dominic Tollan and in seconding first time speaker, Cassandra Niven says, "Teachers need guidance and information on how this impacts their working week and terms and conditions." #EISAGM26 The motion is carried.

Moving a motion to look at advantages of seeking a minimum lunch break, Craig Duffy says "I think it's important to explore the advantages and disadvantages of this." The motion is seconded by Martyn Cheung. #EISAGM26 Following a show of hands, the motion carries.

David Gibson moves motion 60 on enhanced training for members on the employment rights act. “as LA secretaries we are the first point of contact with members, we need better understanding of this complex legislation”
