Megan and I have heard from quite a few poets that they need a little more time, so we’ve extended the deadline for the Stevie Nicks poetry anthology until Feb. 12. Send us those poems, you wild hearts! 🔮🕊️🎩

The “Sugarcane” documentary is devastating to watch. The filmmakers’ decision to frame the horrifying discoveries with long silences and wide vistas of British Columbia is beautiful and chilling. You won’t be able to stop thinking about it.

Sad to hear Dorothy Allison has passed away. When I edited my AIDS-benefit cookbook FOOD FOR LIFE in the mid-90s, I asked her for her Red Velvet Cake recipe (if you've read TRASH you'll remember). She gave me this, with her typical brilliance (especially those final warnings!). RIP.
