I finally watched Us! I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I predicted what was going on about 20 mins in. It was fun to see how the story unfolded.

I was feeling defeated after 3 failed attempts to get Dez to attend appointments the this week, but I took today’s via video and they joined halfway through (albeit offscreen). 🙏 It’s amazing what a small shift can do.

I found my old report cards. No “pleasure to have in class” comments but I did get: * model student * great work ethic * we enjoyed the many things she brought in to share with the class And apparently in 6th grade I tested in the 11-12th grade level in every subject except science (just average).

Okay I got through season 4 and now I’m caught up on season 5. I love what they did with the storylines.

Season 4 of Hacks is hard to watch so far. I’m 4 episodes in and it’s stressing me out.

I need to take more PTO but I struggle to do it when I don’t have a reason / place to go / etc. I think it’s been ingrained as a working parent thing - like I have to save my PTO for school vacations. How do I change this in my brain? It’s been years since I had to plan around a school break. 🤪

One of the best things I ever did was to admit to my kid I didn’t like her dad. I waited until she was about 16/17, in response to a comment she made about us being friends. I set the record straight, which led to a good conversation. I was able to validate her own bad experiences & set boundaries.

The difference compassion makes at the dentist…wow! They didn’t blink twice at me for my kid’s diet and had kind words & praise for what we are able to accomplish. 🙏
