I just had a hayfever epiphany. I haven't lived anywhere with a lawn in 15 years at least and Christmas is leaf blower and lawnmower and whipper snipper tidying season in the burbs.

In a perverse life, I have a fridge heaving with quail and wallaby pithivier leftovers, but because we're setting up an air-fryer that was a gift, so the almost-teen boy can cook his own nuggets, there will be nuggets for lunch.

And in other "nothing says Christmas like..." sitting at the table with my laptop I just noticed I never lit the candelabra despite the lengths gone to, to find candles that fitted the bugger.

Spent Christmas in a combination of levitating with anxiety and in peace and good will. Surely nothing says hosting Christmas lunch more than that? I'm so frightfully relieved that Juno, Queen of the Dogs, who has only been in the family two weeks, didn't nip anyone.

Had a massive homesickness for the Blue Mountains today. Don't get me wrong, I love Tasmania, but reading an article around sites near Wolgan Valley and my heart did pangs. No point being buried there but it feels very overseas right now when the sandstone cliffs call.

Dogs teach you things. It's funny that at a low personal confidence time I have to teach a dog, an adult and a child, confidence so that they can all get along without being afraid - ergo snappy / angry / fearful. It's involving lots of insights that at some point might help my own lack of props.

Why do I have a total craving for hot salami when my throat is fire. Number I just don't know how silly I am but despite fire on fire, I feel more physically in pain, but comforted. Hacking off a sliver of mouldy, fatty cured meat is my comfort world. Now to suck on ice.

2/2 I used to laugh that I diced with death eating raw crustacean but that was a little too ow to carry on being blasé about. So this is today's cautionary tale for people like me who think they can ignore allergies. Not being able to swallow is not fun.

1/2 An undercooked prawn on pizza = for me allergic reaction & a throat that feels like razor blades have gone through it now the swelling is down. Thank goodness for already being on antihistamines for hay fever. Might have been a bit worse if that hadn't been the case. A feeble 'yay' I guess.

I will fight people who use leaf blowers. Apart from people who are mean I hate nothing more. Please @ me because I will sneeze over you and throw your grass seed back atcha.
