Today a lot of vote-blue-no-matter-who people in Omaha told me they would be down for a general strike. It’s really on Dem leadership to harness this energy.

A bus with bars in the windows just left the ICE detention facility in Broadview, Illinois. People were inside.

Broadview’s protest curfew is now in effect. Protests in the village of the ICE facility are not allowed until tomorrow at 9 am. Police just warned protesters that if they attempt to cross the street they will be arrested.

A group of around 100 protesters defied police and entered the protest area outside the Broadview ICE facility more than an hour before protests are allowed to start.

This truly bizarre. The Village of Broadview is one step removed from selling tickets for the right to protest ICE.

Protesters are starting to show up outside of the Broadview ICE facility, but police are making people stay across the street. The village has limited protests to start at 9AM CT.

Illinois State Police have forced protesters back away from the street and sidewalk near the Broadview, Illinois ICE facility. Police in riot gear have arrived. This force was in response to protesters playing music and dancing in the street.

"We're all taking a risk to be here, we're all sacrificing our identities, our jobs, our livelihoods, to be here," protester says. "It's really scary because this is your lives, these are your jobs, nobody wants to sacrifice their comfort but...they will keep taking," -protester

Things have settled down. Now protesters are yelling “shame” each time police allow an ICE van to pass into the Broadview, Illinois facility.

State police in riot gear are here. They pushed a path through the street and arrested one person who sat in the street.

A group of more than 100 are holding a prayer service a block from the Broadview, Illinois ICE facility. Their prayers are dedicated to an end of ICE raids in the area.

More people are starting to gather. Protesters are avoiding the designated "protest areas" and are going to a different entrance to the facility. State and village police are trying to make it difficult for protesters to block the street.

Protesters had started to gather at the eastern approach to the Broadview, Illinois ICE facility. In response, authorities parked two public works trucks to block the path of demonstrators.

HAPPENING NOW: An anti-ICE protest is growing in downtown Chicago in the shadow of the Trump tower. Thousands are out on a Tuesday to denounce the violence and profiling ICE officers have carried out on the community.

HAPPENING NOW Nurses at UnityPoint Health Meriter in Madison, WI are holding a strike-ready rally as they negotiate a new contract. The nurses are unionized with @seiu.org. They have been negotiating since January.

NEW Midwest Perishable Industries in Madison, WI will permanently close by next week and layoff 50 people after the business failed to get additional credit. It’s unclear from this WARN filed with the state why the business was only negotiating with a single creditor.

HAPPENING NOW Worker Justice Wisconsin is leading a group to call on Stone Concepts Corporation in Middleton, WI to pay nearly $7,000 in owed wages to a worker. WJW is planning this to the first event in a public shaming campaign to raise awareness of wage theft.

NEW IUOE Local 420 has filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to unionize 11 workers at DTE Vantage in Sun Prairie, WI.

There will be a rally outside of the Wisconsin State Capitol tomorrow at noon.
