Let me deinfluence you from Book of the Month real quick as I keep getting ads from them. It's extremely easy to join and extremely hard to leave. All your books with have labels on them that say book of the month that will make them hard to rehome if you don't keep all your books forever.

Luke warm take, but if you read 100 books you should not be blanket recommending 10 of those to anyone and everyone. 1/10 of books you think everyone should read??? I can't think of any book I'd recommend to anyone... maybe The Hobbit? Life is too short to take a blanket book recommendation.

If I tell someone I am going to go home and read the chances that I will go home and read are significantly lower than if I say nothing.

Book buying ban update: I was in a bookstore for over 20 minutes, even found books I liked, and bought no books. Sold over 20 books and got over $50 for them. I think the ban is getting easier the longer I go.

My first tablet woven piece. Going to use it as a belt. Learned how to make this in a class with the Weavers and Spinners Guild here in Des Moines. Highly recommend joining or taking classes. You'll learn a lot and the guild members are kind, giving, interesting people.

Update on my book buying ban. I almost ordered an art book, but shipping was $20, so I noped out of there.

I always double check my grocery pick up order to make sure I don't have things in there I placed when hungry, etc. Today I literally removed $25 of chocolate from the order. I have chocolate at home!!!!
