Me again, your neighborhood nervous pet mom. Anyone's dog been given butorphanol as a light sedative and experienced extended drowsyness? I didnt even know she got it until I looked at the email receipt a bit ago and called them. She's been pretty spacy since we got home and it's been hours.

Still waiting. I felt so guilty. Poor girl did so good in the car, like ooh ok just a car ride. Nope, sorry...bamboozled you. And now she's just back in a kennel waiting her turn and thinks I left her.

Waiting for Brindy to get her ultrasound now. Not sure if I'll get any update on that today. Appt with our regular vet office Thursday to discuss and see what's what. Scared, tired, stressed, anxious, worried, overwhelmed is the vibe, unfortunately.

This is not the last thank you you'll hear from me. Just an umbrella one for now but I cannot thank you all enough, for sharing, for donating, in some cases both, to help with the emergency vet bill and upcoming bills for my sweet Brindy girl. It's been overwhelming and I am so so thankful🩷

My velcro pup is by my side tonight too. We are just waiting til 11 when Brkndy has her next meal so we can go the fuck to sleep 🥱 and then wake up at 5 so she can eat again. Phone calls in the morning to get her appointments scheduled.

Brindy isnt a snuggler. Not really anyway. She has to be in the same room as me, always...but she isn't usually directly next to me in bed, or on the couch. But when she lays her head on my leg, or stomach...it feels so special that she chose closeness, in that moment.

Earlier Brindy barked for a moment when she heard the dog next door bark and I was like oh, there is my Brindy girl. And just now, she gave me side eye...and, there is my Brindy girl 🩷 I'm never getting annoyed with her ever again. My sweet, brave Brindy baby.

I havent eaten much or slept well the last couple nights. I have a bad headache...but a couple of hours ago this was us 🩷 I think a nap will be in our future. Brindy is quite tired but I think all in all, doing as well as I could hope for. Tomorrow I will call my vet as soon as they open.

Home with Brindy girl. She is tired. We will do a small meal at 11 and then try to get some sleep. The emergency vet at 9pm on a long weekend was a sad place to be so I am extra thankful she is home. I am crying so much for her, and for all the kindness flooding in from you all.

Just saw two different groups of brown people working outside. One group was digging line, the other was doing repavement of a parking lot so hot plus fumes. Not a single white person to be found. Did they take their jobs or were they the ones willing to do the very manual labor in this heat. 🤔

I've applied to a few places for a second/part time job and either didnt hear back or got a no. So having my kid help me get a job would probably be the path of least resistance which is both helpful and embarrassing.

For the last 3 yrs, my son has worked at the restaurant I worked at over 20 yrs ago. He is switching to the location closer to the apt he moves to in August. I think im going to apply for part-time work there now. He said he'll text his former manager for me if I want him to. 🙃🫠
