Machine learning map of climate policy literature reveals disparities between scientific attention, policy density, and emissions Current efforts to reduce emissions fall far short of what is required to keep global warming well below 2° as established in the Paris Agreement1. In fact, global carbon emissions continue to rise, despite requirements to reach net-zero emissions within the next 30–50 years. To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, countries need to increase the ambition of their emissions reductions pledges, and to close the implementation gap between pledges and current policies.
