Per Pete Thamel, UMass grad and former football player Thorr Bjorn is leaving URI to come work for UMass as Senior Deputy Athletic Director, overseeing the football program. Pete says that Bamford recruited Bjorn.

Solid move from Frank Martin with this post on the former bird app. He's right, too. If they want to play a physical style, they need to improve at layups and free throws.

UMass comes in at 196 in the initial KenPom rankings, 7th in the MAC. They should be much better than that and the number is likely a reflection of major roster turnover. Finishing the year at 196/7th would be a disaster.

UMass has apparently cancelled their postgame press conference. Pathetic and cowardly. This is spiraling quickly for Bamford, Harasymiak and Co.

The Bryant loss was the worst loss in UMass history at the time. Is giving up 42 (and counting) and not being able to muster a TD against Kent St, a team with an interim coach that hasn't won an FBS or MAC game in literal years, the new rock bottom? How much lower can rock bottom possibly get?

One of the many signs of how bad a program UMass football is, is that helmets come off multiple times every game. Are they not fitted right, are they not strapped on, what's the deal? Just one of those symptoms of a program on its death bed.

And once again, Coach Harasymiak forgoes an easy FG to keep it a 2-score game in favor of a 4th down that gets completely blown up and results in a UMass fumble that goes backwards like 20 yards. Yakkity Sax territory here.
