Unsolicited writing advice, no. 26800: Querying is a slow, anxious process. Don't make it worse by stopping work. Start something new. Have fun with it. At worst, having a new project will take the sting out of rejection. At best, you'll have a second half-finished book when your first is accepted.

I suppose I should marvel at the miracle of technology that allows me to sit in an airport in Japan, remote logged in to my computer in Denver, where I am editing a video for a client in Virginia… but right now I’m annoyed at how slow the connection is.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 154: Feed your writing daily. Feed it with fiction, non-fiction, news, games, theatre, films, art. Feed it with conversation. Feed it with experience. Feed it with curiosity. Don't expect to get anything out unless you also keep putting in.

The nice thing about the fall is I can wake up at the same time I always do, but I get to FEEL like I’m up early, with the sunrise, reveling in the cool of the morning.
