"I got really excited that I had a problem I could translate into an app." Love this mindset from
@swifteves.bsky.social
on the new Launched episode. He saw a need for a "HealthKit for kids" and built Pediapal to solve his own problem. Link to the full episode in the first comment 👇

Experimenting with animating sensor data. Eventually looking to build out predicted poses based on sensor data, and how that maps to detected activities. Boring, for now.

I've been thinking of new ways automated testing could be used. Today, I created a series of tests that goes through my customer flows in a variety of appearances. They take screenshots, finally creating a new webpage where I can directly compare various UI against each appearance.

I've been meaning to write this post for years, but the Square layoffs finally pushed me over the edge. This is surely one of my less popular convictions, but I earnestly believe that big companies getting smaller is rational because communication bottlenecks kill productivity and demoralize teams.

For my consumer CV/ML training app I added an MCP server for all the features a user could touch/use. Feels so powerful rationalizing through results, experiments and ideas, then queueing up multiple training "bets" to concurrently run and test at once.

Building out calibration for location only (not the end goal) stop detection. i.e. hopping out of your cart. So you can find ideal settings.

Half of creating something new involves removing features you’ve already built for something that’s better. I swear I've rewrote this one user flow 4 different ways, liking each better than the last.

Starting something new. After nearly 13 years @ Apple, I'm moving on to build something of my own. Working on one main product idea, plus a couple side projects. I'll also be doing some contracting work along the way when it's right. Looking forward to the challenge and exploring where this goes.
