NEW RESEARCH! Identifying child criminal exploitation in Northern Ireland. Children in Northern Ireland exploited in criminal activities are not being formally identified as victims of modern slavery and human trafficking – despite indications they may meet the criteria. 🧵

One of the problems with prosecutions under the Modern Slavery Act has been that the traffickers have often been charged for lesser offences in order to increase the chances of successful prosecutions. 🧵

It's been great to be take part in the event 'Ethics for Social Justice Research: Learning from Creative Approaches' at @liverpooluni.bsky.social today. The workshop aimed to open up a space to think about what it means to conduct research ethically with affected communities.
