In 2011, I carried a “LIBRARIANS FOR SHUSHING SCOTT” sign in Wisconsin’s Act 10 protests. I kept it and, in 2017, I peeled off some letters and changed the name for the Women’s March. I threw away the sign last spring when we cleaned the basement. I cannot believe I had to remake the damn sign.

Could only attend virtually this year, but really enjoying how Ruha Benjamin is complicating what appears to be a lot of "let's throw AI at it" content scheduled for the next few days of the conference. #ACRL2025

Helpful to remember: sometimes news can be good

The votes are still being tallied, but, using the AP’s current count of votes for Crawford and the New York Times as a source for how much money Musk spent in Wisconsin ($25M) each Crawford voter personally wasted $19.43 of his money. Speaking as a Wisconsin voter, this is *intensely* satisfying.

It'd be nice if we would spend less time on AI and more time on our actual vital missions right now. Especially given, you know, the purposeful dismantling of libraries and education. 📚

And also this. And, once it slaps its frame on the idea you have questions about, good luck getting your brain back out of that frame. So limiting and such a waste of time.
