i have a pocket notebook that i accidentally dropped into the sea years ago when visiting a friend; the paper is all wrinkled - likely wrong & unusable to some - but to me it makes it pleasant to write on. it's damaged and imperfect and if i think hard enough it still smells of the sea. i love it.
