Elizabeth Layton grew up in a beautiful lakeside home in Coldstream, BC before moving to England to work as Winston Churchill's secretary during the #SWW She was born in England, and later settled in South Africa, but for all of her life, she was steadfast in the belief that she was Canadian 🇨🇦

Elizabeth Layton, whose parents lived in the Lake House from 1925-1940, later said that (though born in England) the years she lived in Coldstream made her feel like she was Canadian 🇨🇦

We had a great time at the Vernon Winter Carnival parade this past weekend! For the 1980s theme we pretended we were from "Little House on the Lakeside," by borrowing costumes from Historic O'Keefe Ranch and hitching a ride with Horse Drawn Okanagan.
