Have you ever seen this unusual bench inscription at
#Chingford
Mount? We found out some info from newspapers. He was a Canning Town resident but buried at Chingford Mount Cemetery poss because of space limitations. But why is the inscription on a bench here and not in
#CanningTown
? Any ideas?

May's the Bakers, May & Crown, List's the Bakers also. Barton's were huge. Chingford and Walthamstow. Long before Percy Ingle :) Were Barton's actually in Dagenham ? BTW there are Lists listed (sorry!) in the Livery of the Worshipful Company of Bakers.

Larkswood Pool, Chingford was opened by Chingford UDC in July 1936. The design featured a striking Art Deco facade & a cruciform shaped pool. There were 70,000 visitors by Sep 1936. It was adapted to be civil defence control centre in WWII. It closed in 1987 & was later demolished.
