Leaving a plant sale at a garden club member’s house last year, we stopped at a yard sale and an older woman flagged us down. She was also a garden club member and told us to follow her home for free plants. We did, despite all childhood training. Now we have bloodroot.

A change is as good as a rest, my parents always told me. But I’m starting to suspect that I may, in fact, actually need a rest.

It is Canadian election day and the first day since March 18 that our hens have not laid a single egg. I don’t know what this means. #pleasenotlilpp

Working in the NGO space is balls now. I’m lucky - my job is not directly reliant on US funds, but I wake up every day to write about the horror those aid cuts mean. The community I’ve found, the family I’ve built make life easier, and I appreciate all of you for checking in and reaching out.
