I feel like pointing out the “legitimate scientific use” of words like ‘bias’ and ‘systemic’ in basic science is missing the point. Culture, activism, and race are also scientific topics of interest. An assault on ANY of these terms is an assault on science as a whole.

Slightly annoying how many of the comments are like, "This is written so broadly it's going to even affect ME over here in chemistry" or whatever. We need to (always) stand together as scientists whether you're the target or the collateral damage.

I attended my first SfN this past week in DC! Was great reuniting with friends, making new connections, and learning about ongoing work in both cognitive and social neuroscience. Thanks to NUIN and a Conference Travel Grant from TGS for covering my expenses and making this trip possible for me! 🧠

Grateful for the chance to sit down and reflect on my experience as a child of Polish immigrants, and how this shaped my path towards being a neuroscientist. 🇵🇱🇺🇸
