This cold has been lingering, and it is up to 7 days now. I want my sinuses back, and for the painful chest coughs to stop. Please and thank you.

Can biodiversity conservation occur within and in conjunction with an economic system based on continued growth and expansion? Just the words themselves indicate no. We continue to find ourselves in this circular debate.

Looks like I have to send yet another email to New West Bylaws because apparently construction companies have no sense. These unnecessary spotlights are shining into my bedroom window.

I vote for Agnes and 10th to get some bump outs & other traffic calming before the two new towers full of drivers are built. It used to be safe to cross here, but over the past 4 years it is now so dangerous. Drivers don't slow down at all.

When I was at UVic oh so long ago, I was aware of Buy Nothing Day as the last Friday in November. I had no idea until a few years ago when Canada & the world started fetishizing Black Friday that the former was a reaction to the latter.

It's 4pm and some eejit is still at the construction site making noisy drilling noises. I just want a relaxing Saturday, please.

Coinamatic is useless. 2 of 5 washing machines in my building broken today. Always at least 1 down every time I come down to do laundry. These machines are so old.

Neighbourhood continues to get uglier and more crowded. I no longer even look out the windows because there's nothing to see.

Oh, I just LOVE when the condo complex construction crews work on Saturdays. So happy to have my only daylight hours in my home RUINED by their noise. On to Plan B for this afternoon, I guess.

My mental health has taken a toll over the 6 years I have lived next to all this construction noise. My home is not at all a place to relax. I cannot wait until life will allow me to move away somewhere quieter. Or at least with soundproofed windows.

The Dougie College construction site closed the Royal sidewalk again today. Detour is around another part of Agnes where the road and sidewalk are also closed. Safety first.

Please make the concrete blowers stop. I can't make myself not hear them and the hum they make causes my skin to crawl.

After 15+ minutes a Waterfront train appeared. Now we are just sitting in the middle of nowhere between Lougheed and Braid waiting for...what? I may never get home tonight.

What the hell, TransLink? Where are all the Expo Line trains at Production Way? It is rush hour, FFS.

Went on a mushroom identification walk out on by the Beaty Museum. I have so many new favourite fungi now. This peppery bolete is adorable. There was another that smells like coconut!

I wish there was a way to block any photos of the few truly horrible people often talked about. Articles are fine but I don't need to see their faces.

Looks like my 6.40am bus has had another oopsie this morning that prevented it from showing up. Not going to blame the driver on this current rotation, but I do feel their time management skills are poor if they can't get here in time to start the route.

Dear New West city - if you close a sidewalk, make sure pedestrians have a convenient, SAFE, detour set up like is done for cars. Especially in the rain and dark of winter. Making people cross busy roads multiple times is not acceptable.

Again the sidewalk is blocked off due to building construction. No pedestrian detour lane. So tired of this.

I forget every year. At what point in winter does Canada's latitude outweigh the marginal gains of changing the clocks?

Been awake since 6am, and have gone for chore to chore, including laundry, and put in an hour of work on report cards. There is so much more to do today, but I am mentally exhausted already.

I am so tired of the 6.40am bus continuously not showing up at New West Stn. Too often it is because the driver cannot leave the depot on time to start the route at the first stop.

Normalize not closing every sidewalk around a construction site because PEOPLE NEED TO EFFING WALK HOME. WE ARE NOT IN CARS WHERE A DETOUR AROUND IS NO BIG DEAL.

Students / kids getting on buses have pretty much stopped paying fares at all. It's been interesting to watch this happen over the last few years.

Seriously. Either cars have NO daytime running lights OR they have the new BLINDINGLY BRIGHT headlights. (I wish Vision Zero would talk about this as well a little more.)

On IG I just saw an ad for the new giant condo towers at New West Quay. You mean the 2-bed condos starting at $750k haven't yet sold out? I wonder why... 🤔

I had to stop at Walmart for batteries last night, and staff were putting out Christmas stuff. October 17th. This is madness.

Anyone else look at the bins of pumpkins outside grocery store & think of the time, energy, land, fossil fuels that went into producing a food that won't be eaten. Instead, left to rot on a porch and likely not even composted or fed to pigs? Or am I just that depressed at the world right now?

I think what the "missing bus" driver did was bypass the first stop at New West Station and went up Eighth from elsewhere. None of the usual people from the 6.40 bus are getting on this later one. Argh!

All of my teaching unit lessons are printed out, placed in plastic sleeves, and filed sequentially in labelled binders. Shelved by subject, in teaching order. Daily plans written in pen on paper.

I guess today is the first day of the school year where my bus to work has failed to show at 6.40am. Six weeks is longer than any period last winter. Messes up my schedule for getting ready for the 8am class, however.

You leave YouTube for a second and when you return all of the icons are even more infantilised than when you left. Why do they insist on doing this? Stop updating what doesn't need updating.

Exiting Lake City Way station, the pedestrians will have to be aware enough to not get in the way of any cyclists riding downhill. Of course the sidewalk is right next to the road. Only so much change can happen in urban design at one time, I guess.
