Like many, we’ve been budgeting and trying not to eat out, as my son and I have both been unemployed this year (I just accepted a job offer). But we want to support the amazing immigrant-owned restaurants we are so fortunate to have in the Twin Cities.

Ready to scream. It took 3 months to get my adult son enrolled in Medical Assistance. We just received a notice that his coverage is being terminated, claiming we failed to provide proof of citizenship. I mailed a photocopy of his passport months ago to the address that was provided.

First Valentine’s Day with my partner. We exchanged gifts. And each got a thing for the other’s cats. Purrrrfect.

In 2024, we took in a bonded pair of cats. This orange boy instantly claimed my son. He rarely gives me the time of day. But today he’s purring on my lap. Like he could tell I needed some comforting, which I appreciate. Good boy, Hajime.

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

It has gotten so bad that the @nytimes.com has stopped using the passive voice to describe the violence.

DOJ lies. DHS lies. ICE lies. That has been established. Do not repeat their claims as fact. Their claims are arguments or, often, misleading propaganda — when not outright lies. They are seeking to make a case for their lawlessness (and to please Trump), not seeking to inform.

ICE agents at a hotel in St. Paul woke up this morning to news that they’re getting kicked out of their hotel today at noon.
