While the 2025 National Study of Catholic Priests finds increased conservatism among younger priests, self-identified political leanings are not indicative of a priest's pastoral approach to LGBTQ+ issues.

A German bishop chastised an international quartet of bishops who held a prayer service of 'atonement' in Philadelphia for the LGBTQ+ Jubilee Pilgrimage. Bishop Ludger Schepers said that 'atoning' for the mere presence of Queer Catholics "betrays the Gospel."
