👀 lots of folks QT'ing to say: women — submit your manuscripts! I think what has to come first is: universities, fix your gendered service and teaching inequities, and society, balance out your care work, so women *have time* to write the damn manuscripts. So many women colleagues are BURNT OUT.

Same experience - I used transparencies in the first classes I taught, and I liked that I could write on & erase them (I've always hated the feeling of chalk on my hands). I also had to prepare transparencies for my first EGOS (2005, Berlin). Time does fly... 😄

Some useful advice I received as a grad student planning to "turn my dissertation into a book." Don't think of it as a process of "revising your dissertation..." Instead, write a (new) book that uses your dissertation research as a central resource.
