You know, when you made a big breakfast, you probably wanna take it easy and not do anything too crazy for dinner. So of course you end up grilling, yellow squash, red onions, two colors of bell peppers, mushrooms, corn, three kinds of sausages, butterscotch pork chops, and a T-bone steak.

Here's one of my cooking hot takes: making fresh hollandaise sauce is not worth it. I keep a number of packets of Knorr hollandaise sauce powder on hand. Once I've gone through their instructions, I hit it with a little extra zip of lemon juice. It's just as good if not better than making it fresh.

I have been assured by my coworkers that my beard has reached the "that facial hair is intentional" threshold. Because my hair is very fine, and light colored (and increasingly coming in gray/white), it takes me a while to grow facial hair. Hopefully, it's looking pretty good.

Yesterday was quite exciting for me. For the first time in my culinary career, I got to cook morels. They were surprisingly easy to cook… Just some oil, cutting them in half, seasoning them, throwing in a little butter, and that was pretty much it. They were delicious and nutty.

I can tell you the best single piece of food I ever put in my mouth. At the restaurant O Ya in Boston, I had seared foie gras "nigiri" served with a balsamic chocolate sauce and raisin cocoa pulp. I can't even describe to you how delicious it was. Everything worked perfectly together.

Saw two super enjoyable movies today: Predator Badlands and Dust Bunny. Both really surprised me, which is rare for me when I see movies these days. Both had tons of humor and crazy action sequences. Most fun I've had watching since Superman last year.
