Can having surgery affect progression of chronic kidney disease? Our new retrospective analysis of 58,175 non-cardiac surgeries, found that having surgery was associated with improved kidney function in patients with CKD - but only if there was no AKI. 🔗

In this new randomized trial of 126 patients having laparoscopic cholecystectomy, intravenous lidocaine provided a non-inferior quality of recovery compared to erector spinae plane block. Either approach was superior to placebo.
