I was actually not being serious earlier. But I am serious about the following: Humans are the only ones with autism and many other neurodivergences. I think a higher level of awareness is a complex process, with many granular variations, that's going to emerge in near limitless different ways.

I would believe if there are more autistic people now than there used to be, not that we could measure it. I think autism just has really strong, dominant genes, and the only way to stop it would be eugenics by way of selective breeding and screening everyone for autism, which would just be nuts.
