Together, we amplified our voices, and I am so grateful that my friend and the others who were detained have been released. Now, the fight continues for transparency and justice.

Morrison said Naqvi walked walked and hitchhiked to a hotel after being released from the detention center in WI. Naqvi's sister Sarah Afzal also said the WI facility denied she was ever held there. (I was told the same thing when I called the WI facility in the wee hours of Saturday morning.)

Morrison emphasized that federal immigration agents lied, repeatedly changing their story about Naqvi and her colleagues' status. He added she was released to the street in Wisconsin and that as of right now, she still has not gotten her passport back.
